Research Focus: Systemic Educational Inequities (SEI)
Our focus on research and project development is aimed at tackling systemic educational inequities. We believe in identifying the root causes of inequality and creating projects that inspire a thriving learning community.

Access to High Quality Education
Historically, schools in underserved communities lack access to high-quality educational resources, facilities, and experienced teachers. Fewer extracurricular activities contribute to unequal learning opportunities.
Special Education Discrepancy
School data highlights that students, especially those from minority or low-income backgrounds, may be overrepresented in special education classes or underrepresented in gifted and talented programs.
Educational Funding Disparities
Unequal funding for schools based on the local property tax system, leads to resource disparities. Schools in low-income neighborhoods often receive less funding than those in wealthier areas, impacting teacher salaries, classroom materials, and extracurricular programs.
Post Graduation Opportunities
After the Supreme Court ruling of Brown v Board of Education, research shows that students from underserved communities face barriers in accessing college or vocational training, limiting their post-graduation prospects.
